Brown († 1965) was a financial executive & corporate director with DuPont and General Motors. In 1957, he was ranked among the 76 richest Americans by Fortune magazine, and was thought to be the richest man in Maryland.
His Georgian mansion on a 20-acre estate is a Conference Center today.
