Michael McCain's house is in the same Toronto neighborhood as his brother Scott's house, sister Eleanor's house and not far from the Teddngton Park mansion of his ex, Christine (Chris) McCain. Michael is CEO of Maple Leaf Foods ($4 billion market cap) and its largest (35%) shareholder, he is also scion to the multi-billion dollar McCain Foods frozen food empire founded by his late father, Wallace McCain and uncle, Harrison McCain. Michael made headlines in 2008 when Maple Leaf Foods was at the center of a massive public health problem due to tainted meat that sickened hundreds and at least 20 of whom died. He has since been lauded for his handling of the issue (links below including internal memos). Michael made headlines again in early 2013 with the very public divorce from his wife Christine (Buckingham) McCain and a record breaking settlement. The public filings (links below) gave a rare glimpse into the lifestyles of one of Canada's wealthiest families, private jets, yachts, multiple homes etc. Michael has received numerous awards including an honorary doctorate from Carleton University. In addition to his house in Lawrence Park he also has a private island on Georgian Bay, a 33m yacht, a luxury condo in Naples, FL he shares with his brother Scott and in Jamaica the McCain family has a fully staffed compound on the grounds of Round Hill known as Longview Manor. The Jamaica compound ($24k/wk) like the McCain yacht ($72k/wk) are available to rent when not being used by the family.
