(2017-12-01)Felix Sater is a Russian-born real estate developer who was former managing director of Bayrock Group. Sater plead guilt in 1998 to a $40M tax fraud scheme which was orchestrated by the Rusisan Mafia.
Sater has been involved in numberous projects with Donald Trump, including Trump SoHo, Trump International Hotel & Residence in Phoenix, Arizona, and Trump International Hotel & Tower Fort Lauderdale (which defaulted on a $139M loan and is now Conrad Fort Lauderdale).
Sater became part of Robert Mueller's Special Counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential campaign. It has been revealed that in January 2017, Sater met with Andrey Artemenko, a Ukranian politician, and Michael D. Cohen, Donald Trump's peronal attorney, to discuss plans to lift sanctions against Russia. Days after the meeting, Sater gave a written proposal of his plan to Cohen to deliver to Michael Flynn, who was, at the time, Donald Trump's National Security Advisor.
