Piëch is an Austrian engineer and billionaire. As a grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, he owns a significant share of the German automanufacturer. Piëch is currently the chairman of Volkswagen and held a multitude of executive roles during his career (Porsche, Audi, VW). Therefore, he has been named the "Car Executive of the Century" in 1999.
Austrian "Format" magazine estimates the net worth of the Piëch-Porsche clan at €35.5 billion (~ $47 billion).
