There are historically strong relations between Qatar and France, today France is one of the largest recipients of Qatari money. Some of the most famous investments were recently made in the field of soccer, e.g. French soccer club Paris Saint-Germain was purchased in 2011 by QIA, Qatar's sovereign wealth fund.
