John Howard Pew († 1971) was the co-owner and President of Sunoco, one of the country's largest gasoline distribution companies. In 1957, Fortune magazine ranked both him and his brother among the 76 richest Americans. In 1934, he purchased and reorganized the Chilton Company, a publisher of several national magazines.
