S. Prestley Blake is the founder of Friendly's restaurant chain.
Blake, who turns 100 this year, recently completed construction of a near-exact replica of Thomas Jefferson's home 'Montecelo' here on this property (the structures seen in the BEV were torn down). He spent $6M on what he's referred to as his "swan song", as he wants the new home to be a lasting asset to the community he loved. He has listed the home for sale for $6.5M and has acknowledged that he won't make a profit on the sale of the home and does not intend to.
